The Groundwork South Trust Limited is a leading community development and environmental regeneration charity, working across the South-West and South-East of England. This project will re-develop and improve the facilities at Saltmill Park, attracting new users and engaging NEET (not in education or employment) young people in skills development through, creating a Saltmill Action Team (SAT) to maintain the site. The SAT will work on a full programme of real environmental projects, learning landscaping and maintenance skills that will help them to secure employment. Through engaging young people at this site, the Trust will be able to reduce incidence of anti-social behaviour, as well as involving young people in enriching activities that help to improve their self-esteem, help them learn new skills, give them opportunities for enhanced mental and physical wellbeing, and which foster a sense of community.
