St Minver Community CIO Trustees have received funding from the Shared prosperity Fund. Together with some £300,000 of matched funding previously raised, this enables construction of the long-awaited new Community Hub building. This will replace a group of huts and temporary structures that presently provide limited facilities for Scouts, Guides, Football Club and Health Hub and that are beyond improvement or repair and no longer fit for purpose.
The new building will be a modern, fully accessible, energy efficient muti use space at the heart of the community. It will enable the delivery of a wide range of much needed facilities and activities for all age groups,
It will not only secure the future of the Scouts, Guides, Football Club and Health Hub but also provide for many additional activities that will stimulate community cohesion, social events and skills training for all age groups to start well, live well and age well.
It will also provide some additional employment for local people and, with the support of our partners, enable opportunities for local people to learn new skills within a community environment. The programmes will provide training and workshops offering a range of creative and educational sessions, and digital workshops.
The Wadebridge and Camel estuary practice will use the Community Hub to provide nurse led clinics and a dispensing service for the local population, reducing their need to travel. In addition, there will be Wellbeing Workshops and opportunities to gain information and support.
The local community and a volunteer network of “Hub Heroes” who have fully supported the project, both financially and with their time, continue to do so by arranging and partaking in the existing events and activities.
