St Enoder Parish Council is working with Cornwall Council on the devolution of seven playing fields and open spaces within the parish. The Community Capacity Fund grant will be used to cover the legal costs required to complete the transfer of these sites from Cornwall Council to the Parish Council.
Once ownership is secured, the Parish Council will assume full responsibility for maintaining the spaces and will seek further funding to replace ageing play equipment and improve facilities. A key priority is to consult with local residents to understand their aspirations for each site, ensuring future improvements reflect community needs and create welcoming, well‑used spaces.
Taking on these assets will safeguard their long‑term future and ensure they remain available for public use. The project supports the parish’s commitment to providing accessible, high‑quality outdoor spaces that promote health, wellbeing, and community pride. By devolving the sites locally, the Parish Council can develop them in ways that directly benefit residents now and for generations to come.
