In 2022, the St Austell Town Centre Revitalisation Partnership developed a Masterplan setting out a range of projects to tackle the economic, social, community and cultural challenges in the town centre. During consultation, the re-development of a large redundant roof top car park was identified as the number 1 project.
This roof top space has fantastic views over the town and it is envisaged that a contemporary green space structure suitable for all year round pop up eateries, business and events would be transformational for the town centre.
The Partnership has been awarded £194,400 to test the feasibility of the creation of a rooftop garden on the disused car park area at Old Vicarage Place, St Austell and is hoping to design a solution which will provide an exciting, attractive, eco-friendly, economically viable feature in the town centre to encourage residents and tourists into St Austell town centre and increase footfall and local spend.
