Good Growth Community Capacity Funding will support a feasibility study and business plan to help secure the future of Newquay Youth Centre. Newquay Town Council is considering the devolution of the building from Cornwall Council, and this work will provide the evidence needed to plan sustainable, high‑quality youth provision.
Newquay Youth Centre is a vital safe space for young people aged 8–18. It offers a wide range of activities including arts, support services, education, sports and physical activity. Each year, the centre supports more than 300 young people, including those who are NEET, at risk of homelessness, or experiencing mental health challenges.
The funded feasibility study will assess current and future needs, gather feedback from young people and community stakeholders, and explore revenue‑generating opportunities to secure long‑term viability. It will also identify potential refurbishment needs and building improvements to ensure the space remains welcoming, safe and fit for purpose.
By creating a clear, evidence‑based plan, this project will help unlock future investment and strengthen youth engagement in Newquay. The study will support the development of a sustainable community resource that continues to meet the needs of young people now and in the years ahead.
