Nancegollan Village Hall is a vital community hub serving a wide rural area between Camborne and Helston, where residents face challenges including high housing costs, low wages, and limited public transport. With no shop or pub in the village, the hall plays a central role in reducing isolation and supporting wellbeing.
The hall hosts a growing range of activities—from a free weekly Community Café to toddler groups, exercise classes, craft clubs, seasonal events, and health services. Since the pandemic, demand has increased, but the current facilities are no longer fit for purpose.
With the grant from the Community Levelling Up Programme, Nancegollan Village Hall will undergo major renovations to:
- Expand the kitchen for community meals and events
- Add a dedicated accessible toilet and baby changing area
- Create a new meeting room, office, and storage spaces
These upgrades will make the hall more inclusive, flexible, and financially sustainable. With two rooms available for hire and improved amenities, the venue will attract a wider range of users and support more activities—from workshops and holiday clubs to evening entertainment.
The project will also help develop the skills of the management committee and attract new volunteers, strengthening the hall’s role as a welcoming, resilient space for all.
