Mid Cornwall Scouts are developing plans for a permanent, all-weather building to replace the aging marquee currently used for meals and activities during residential events. The new space will complement the existing scout hut and provide a versatile area that can be used year-round, ensuring comfort and safety in all seasons.
The current marquee struggles to cope with colder months and unpredictable summer weather, limiting opportunities for young people and volunteers. With Scouting demand growing and recruitment challenges persisting, a permanent facility will remove these barriers, creating a welcoming environment for more residential events and activities.
This project began with a feasibility study and detailed designs, laying the groundwork for future construction. Once funding is secured, the new building will offer a robust, climate-resilient space for all ages, helping Mid-Cornwall Scouts expand opportunities and attract more adult volunteers to support their thriving community.
