This project follows on from a feasibility study, produced with an investment from the Shared Prosperity Fund, looking into options for redeveloping an existing Cornwall Council owned building located on the northern boundary of the former Liskeard Cattle Market site next to Liskeard town centre. In consideration of a variety of uses and local consultation, a refurbishment of the existing building to create new high quality units was recommended as being the most cost effective option, achieving the greatest impact; support from the Good Growth Programme has now been secured to deliver this scheme.
The capital refurbishment works will upgrade the existing building and provide c.100sqm of improved retail space. The project aims to enable business growth and increase footfall, helping the local economy. As well as this, it will deliver an asset that contributes to the overall vision to redevelop the former cattle market site, boosting community cohesion and delivering visible improvements to the local retail facilities.
Updates to all works being undertaken on the Liskeard Cattle Market site can be found on Cornwall Council’s website.
