IntoBodmin CIC is a community and arts organisation, formed in 2017 in a former Passmore Edwards Free Library. They will be using their Shared Prosperity Fund award to refurbish “The Old Library” which serves as a cultural and community hub for the town, including co-working and business workspace, performance area, café and community room.
Refurbishments will include:
- Essential repairs to the stonework, pointing and rotten windows
- Increasing the energy efficiency of the building with enhanced insulation, secondary glazing and energy efficient heating and lighting systems
- Improvement to accessibility including more signage, automatic doors and facilities.
They will also use the funds to launch a new Community Skills Development programme to provide the opportunity for six volunteers to receive training and establish place-based groups to develop community opportunities.
