Cornish Scrumpy Company Limited (CSCL), who operate Healeys Cyder Farm, are creating a new solar farm to power their production facilities. Five acres of unused land will be utilised to host the 850kw solar farm which will provide 75% of the energy needed annually. This will accelerate their transition to green energy with ambitions to migrate fully to 100% renewable energy onsite within the next 5 years.
As well as the environmental benefits of investing in renewable energy, this project also means that CSCL can mitigate the rising cost of energy bills on production and will be in a better position to capitalise on market opportunities. It will help contribute to lower energy demands, and ultimately better availability and reduced cost pressures for all energy consumers. It also means that CSCL will be able to recruit two additional employees and safeguard 10 roles over the next three years.
