Gwealan Tops, Cornwall’s only staffed adventure playground, is making vital energy-efficiency improvements to strengthen its financial sustainability and expand year-round access for children and the wider community.
The project includes:
- LED Lighting Installation: Brighter, more efficient lighting that reduces energy use and emissions while enabling a wider range of activities, including ball games.
- Upgraded Windows and Doors: Improving insulation to make the building warmer and more cost-effective to run, especially during colder months.
These changes will increase access to the Main Hall for play sessions and community events, ensuring the space remains welcoming throughout the year. Gwealan Tops also offers a meeting room and professional kitchen for hire, supporting future income generation and creating more opportunities for local groups.
By reducing running costs and improving facilities, this project helps Gwealan Tops continue its mission of supporting children’s play and community wellbeing in a sustainable way.
