The Geo-Resources Strategic Sector Strengthening project supports the provisioning of the geo-resources (with a spotlight on critical minerals) and materials required for the energy transition and sustainable development.
The project aims to enable the growth of a self-sustaining cluster body, which will coordinate activities to support the development of a thriving and resilient Geo-Resources Sector that is a global-leader in sustainable and responsible Geo-Resources management. The sector has an important role to play in the achievement of Good Growth in Cornwall and Isles of Scilly, including embedding Good Growth Principles within the +100 members of the Cornwall Mining Alliance, and sharing knowledge and practices internally and externally for the achievement of Good Growth.
Through a series of commissioned studies and workshops, the project will:
- Consolidate critical information on the sector
- Develop a roadmap for sustainable sector growth
- Transfer knowledge to key stakeholders to support data-driven decision-making.
The project is partnered with the Cornish Chamber of Mines and Minerals, and Cornwall Mining Alliance, and it is supported by many local enterprises.
