The Federation of Old Cornwall Societies (Kernow Goth) was established in 1920 for the purpose of protecting and preserving Cornwall’s heritage and culture. It is interested in the Cornish language and dialect, folk traditions, music and leisure pursuits, Cornwall’s industrial, maritime, social and political history, the diaspora and in the place itself in its geography and environment, natural history and human ecology.

They promote a wider awareness of what makes Cornwall special through helping to preserve what remains of value from the past, research and publishing, lectures, walks and talks and the use of the media.

The Federation of Old Cornwall Societies recognises that there is a huge untapped potential for it to expand the work it does to preserve and promote Cornish heritage and culture. They would like to employ the services of a consultant to help them develop a 3 – 5 year business development plan to professionalise the work they do and increase income generation and make the organisation more financially sustainable.

One of the things leading from the business development plan will be the creation of a programme of cultural and environmental activities as well as the creation of a portfolio of cultural and environmental projects to be delivered over the next 3 – 5 years.

The projects to be delivered will be mainly cultural but will also involve improving nature and wildlife habitats.
