A&P’s mission is to help make Falmouth a prime hub for the floating offshore wind sector – offering fabrication, construction, maintenance, port and marine services to developers and service companies.
Falmouth Docks & Engineering Company (operated by A&P Group) will use the Shared Prosperity Fund to undertake an environment impact assessment (EIA) which is necessary if a range of new business ventures at the historic Cornish port dockyard are to be considered. Assessments would include a range of environmental studies and surveys to support future marine licencing requirements, such as benthic surveys and hydrodynamic modelling.
The EIA is the first step in the potential modernisation of the facilities, which would support floating offshore wind (FLOW) in the Celtic Sea and A&P’s existing markets which include commercial shipping, the MOD and the cruise sector.
