DigitALL Festival

DigitALL Festival

Lead Organisation: Software Cornwall

Investment Priority: Community & Place

Fund: Cultural Events and Talent Programme

SPF awarded: £453,700

Location: Cornwall and Isles of Scilly-wide

Software Cornwall is the hub of Cornwall’s growing tech community; one of the fastest-growing tech clusters in the UK. It is essential to Cornwall that this growth continues and is a large contributor to the economy. Software Cornwall works hard to overcome the pain points that the industry faces including probably the biggest, which is the access to talent.

They aim to fulfil the local pipeline by inspiring young people in their career choices, offering career switch programmes and encouraging people to consider Cornwall as a destination to take their career and education.

To support this Software Cornwall are going to celebrate the digital and tech sectors in Cornwall in February, by launching their annual Festival of Tech; a showcase event spanning several weeks to celebrate Cornwall’s thriving tech community

The festival aims to demonstrate that anyone can engage with Technology and that there are huge opportunities for careers and businesses in Cornwall. They currently host one of the most sought after Agile conferences in the world here in Cornwall and this fund has allowed them to bring the global brand of Slush’d to Cornwall hosting over 250 people to an event focused on those on the Startup Journey. Software Cornwall hope to put Cornwall firmly on the global Tech map.

What to expect at the festival:

  • A Tech Connect Xtra, with inspiring speakers, important discussions and plenty of networking
  • Plenty of outreach, fun and inspiring activities for all, throughout the county including an inventors day and a Createch Weekender!
  • A Cornwall Tech Showcase
  • Ctrl+ALT+Del, an inclusive tech conference hosted by TECwomen
  • Even an adult Tech Jam!
