Crantock Street Community Garden is a volunteer-led space in the heart of Newquay where people come together to connect with each other and with nature. To make the garden more accessible, usable, and biodiverse, the group has secured funding to develop detailed redevelopment plans.
The funding will cover the creation of a full specification, bill of quantities, and a comprehensive project plan to guide improvements. These plans will ensure the garden becomes a welcoming space that celebrates the natural environment and encourages wildlife.
Community involvement is central to the process. The group will host an engagement event and run a survey throughout June to gather feedback from local residents and stakeholders, ensuring the design reflects community needs and aspirations.
To support year-round activities, the project also includes purchasing a weatherproof sail and gazebo. These temporary shelters will provide shade in summer and cover during wet weather, enabling more events and gatherings regardless of the season.
This redevelopment project aims to transform Crantock Street Garden into an inclusive, vibrant space that promotes biodiversity and offers a place for people to enjoy nature together.
