Lead Organisation: ClayTAWC Ltd
Investment Priority: Community and Place
Fund: Community Levelling Up
SPF awarded: £96,565
Location: St Dennis

The grant will purchase the building from which ClayTAWC presently runs its services and make improvements to the kitchen area.

The purchase will safeguard the important work that ClayTAWC does for St Dennis and district and further boost the training / well-being / community provision at the Centre.

The proposed purchase of the building will lead to a significant amount of additional provision at the Centre. New services and projects include a number of training sessions including self-harm awareness (children and young people), mental health awareness, mindfulness, meditation and sleep hygiene, menopause awareness through Healthy Cornwall and diabetes prevention activities through Volunteer Cornwall and the NHS (Integrated Care Board), plus a project to create an historic archive at the Centre through the local Old Cornwall Society and the University of Exeter.

The additional element of this project (to improve the kitchen with the replacement of an old and energy inefficient cooker with a greener and more sustainable alternative) will directly lead to a range of cooking-on-a-budget and healthy eating training sessions.
