C.R.E.S.T is building on its earlier success in delivering Cornish hedging skills training by expanding into a broader range of rural skills. This project will begin with a rural consultation in Penwith to identify the most in-demand crafts and training opportunities, as well as the challenges faced by craftspeople, new farmers, and aspiring landworkers in creating sustainable land-based livelihoods.
Alongside this consultation, C.R.E.S.T will develop a Business Plan in partnership with The Apricot Centre, setting out a clear strategy for future delivery and funding. This plan will ensure the organisation can grow its offer and meet the needs of rural communities.
By consolidating knowledge about crafts, land, and community, and identifying potential new educators, Roots and Resilience aims to preserve traditional skills while shaping opportunities for the next generation and fulfilling C.R.E.S.T’s mission of “preserving the past and shaping the future.”
