Piran Advanced Composites (PAC) is a Cornish business based in North Cornwall and a leading member of Cornwall’s prestigious Space Cluster. This family run business has been at the forefront of advance composite technology manufacturing for the last 15 years, with steady growth into being one of the UK’s leading suppliers in the Aerospace Industry. Currently based across 3 sites, PAC are involved in end-to-end production manufacturing ultra light-weight carbon composite components to 35m wingspan UAVs. Due to the unique nature of carbon composite material, is it fast replacing that of metal components, particularly in aircrafts.

Thanks to the new funding, PAC has established an Advanced Aerostructures R&D Facility in one of the largest Hardened Shelters at Newquay Airport. This new 40,000 ft² facility will house their current extensive list of machinery, and new additions such as a new state of the art 3D scanner, large autoclave (one of the largest know in the southwest) and a new purpose built two-story cleanroom. PAC is already a Tier One supplier to the giants of the industry such as BAE systems, Boeing & Airbus, but this new facility will enable PAC to maintain these strong relationships while building new ones with new clients needing the world-class, award-winning services that they offer. With its recent AS9100 accreditation, PAC is now engaged in not just one but three R&D projects worldwide, right here in the heart of Cornwall.

The success of PAC comes from its people. Having already had exponential growth by 300% in recent years, the plans to grow do not stop here. They are committed to fostering local talent & reaching those in education informing them of the opportunities available right here in the county. One of which being the brand new tailored Composite apprenticeship they developed alongside the local college.
