Good Growth Community Capacity Funding will enable AdSurf to significantly increase access to adaptive surfing sessions for people with disabilities, mental health conditions, and neurodiverse needs in and around Bude.
The funding will provide essential equipment that directly expands the organisation’s capacity. This includes:
- Two new adaptive prone surfboards with chest raises and handles, allowing more participants who require additional support to take part safely and confidently. By increasing the number and type of boards available, AdSurf will be able to run larger group sessions and offer more flexible scheduling throughout the year.
- A full fleet of adapted wetsuits, boots, gloves, and accessories. This ensures that both participants and volunteers have reliable, well-fitting gear, reducing reliance on borrowed equipment and eliminating delays caused by cleaning and drying between sessions. With suitable kit always available, AdSurf can meet growing demand and deliver a consistently high-quality experience.
- Camera equipment and accessories to restore AdSurf’s ability to capture participant achievements and allow the team to document sessions, celebrate progress, and provide participants with memorable images that boost confidence and encourage continued engagement.
Together, these investments will enable AdSurf to increase session numbers, improve participant experience, and reduce barriers to accessing the ocean. By strengthening the organisation’s capacity, the funding supports a safe, inclusive environment where more people can enjoy the physical, emotional, and social benefits of adaptive surfing.
