Funding will go towards purchasing two new cabins at Roscrow Scout Camp near Mabe: one with a kitchen and meeting space, and another with a fully accessible toilet. These improvements will replace ageing portacabins that have reached the end of their lifespan, ensuring the site remains safe, functional, and inclusive.
The camp field, owned by the Scout Association, has been used by 4th Falmouth Scouts for over 20 years as an all-weather facility for young people aged 8–18. It offers skills training, outdoor activities, and overnight camping experiences that support personal development and wellbeing.
The new cabins will increase capacity for activities and training, enabling leaders and scouts to develop confidence and leadership skills. With over 200 badges available, scouts gain practical experience that helps them contribute positively to society. The addition of an accessible toilet means children who previously could not attend will now be able to take part, making the camp fully inclusive.
The 4th Falmouth Scouts have been fundraising for several years and will contribute the remaining costs to complete the project. These improvements will allow more young people to enjoy nature, learn new skills, and build healthy, active lifestyles.
