INVESTMENT PRIORITY: COMMUNITY AND PLACE
We anticipate that this will be delivered by developing and promoting Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly’s unique culture, heritage and Creative Industries. The region is already regarded as a nationally significant creative cluster and has specialisms in Screen Industries, Theatre, Heritage, sporting events, art and conferences. Proposals could build on these specialisms and/or help places bid for and host international business, sector and industry events and conferences that support wider local growth sectors. Proposals may be designed to instigate annual occurrences ensuring that positive economic and social impacts are maintained over time. Where this is the case applications should demonstrate how this will be sustainable in future years.
We particularly welcome activity which seeks to develop growth and skills development through digital and immersive technology collaborations, further accelerating the growth of our CreaTech sector and associated skills development initiatives through new and targeted events and productions. Activity should increase high value national and international visitor spend and demonstrate cultural and artistic excellence through innovation and cutting-edge technology, enhancing the profile of Cornwall to domestic and international audiences as a place to visit, work or invest in at all times of the year.
